Ljubljana27 y3 y experience

Hello! My name is Tjaša and I am currently still doing a couple of courses at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana. I already have quite a bit of experience working with children: I worked as a live-in au-pair in Ireland for 8 months, where I spent most of my time with three children (2, 4 and 8 years old) 5 days a week. In addition to other chores and activities, I helped the older two with homework and learning daily. My English language proficiency was also useful in my temporary job at the Pedagogical Institute of Ljubljana. I also have some experience as an English teacher with children of all ages - before the pandemic, I taught two groups of toddlers English and have been offering zoom private English lessons to elementary and high school students for 2 years. Currently, in addition to a couple of zoom lessons, I occasionally babysit a 1.5-year-old toddler.

I lived abroad for two years (one in Ireland and one in Portugal), so I speak fluent English and Slovenian, and last year I started learning Portuguese. People say I am always smiling, communicative, always myself and independent. In my free time I like to read, listen to podcasts, create in the kitchen, roller skate, learn Portuguese, hang out with friends, travel and lately I been practicing yoga.

I teach English in hope that the child will grow fond of it because it seems to me that a positive attitude towards knowledge and above all towards learning a language is crucial as knowledge of English is and even more so is becoming almost mandatory - especially for us living in Slovenia.
